STAND-INS (rehearsal)

The cast of objects in the play of STAND-INS are all known to us physically, we relate to them with varying forms of intimacy, and they propose to help us in some form of transformation. The materials are a part of everyday domestic life, and whether we intend to or not, we are bonded to them. It is kind of sad, the objects are aware of their existential futility.  Playful and absurd the sculptures are exercising pleasure and curiosity, and are driven by a critique of the structures that coerce us all toward a wellness tied to capitalism and passivity.
