In this performance for the camera I explore alternative non functional uses for a carpet, using an imitation Persian carpet from IKEA. The gestures are absurd and demonstrative, and come close to traditional uses but miss them narrowly, change them, or do them wrong. The questions are: how should I use this carpet, how do you use this carpet, how do they use this carpet, how close can I become to this carpet? It is performed with the knowledge of the camera, engaging with it like an individual audience, and imagining that audience being the famous Iranian poet Hafez.
